Misty Morning on the Lake

8x10 Acrylics on Wrapped Canvas
SOLD

This painting was based on a photo reference by John Edwards from Facebook Photos for Artists group.I fell in the love with the light and tranquility of the scene and was happy with the outcome.

So was the buyer! She e-mailed me:

I was out of town all last week when it came so I didn't see it until Saturday night when I got home. It's great - everything I expected and more. I can't wait to see more of your work! - Sharon V.

Barn Under Big Sky

Barn Under Big Sky
8x10 Oil on Panel

There is a Facebook group called Photos for Artists with some of the most talented photographers! This one is inspired by a photo by Trevor Reeves.

Christmas Cabin

Christmas Cabin in Moonlight
11x14 Acrylic on Panel

SOLD
Painted as part of a class given by Johanne Vloothuis. Was harder than I'd expected!

Received e-mail from buyer:
Hi Elizabeth,

I wanted to tell you I received your painting today, and I am so happy with it.  I was pleasantly surprised that it was even prettier in person.  You did such a great job, I'm sure like you said the snow was very challenging and you did great.

Thank you so much for sending it so quickly. I love it.

Bluebells in Green - SOLD

Bluebells in Green
8x10 Acrylic on Panel

This was both fun and a challenge. Greens are something I'm learning to paint. Last January I moved to a house situated in the middle of a 275 acre tree nursery and it has given me the advantage of spending time on the deck just looking at "green trees". Do you know how many greens there are? And did you know "Blue Spruce" is actually a slight lavender tint? I know it sounds weird but I look at trees now and think  - "hmmmm, olive with a touch of ultramarine blue", or "just a pinch of cadmium red in that one".  Art geek.

Storm Has Passed - redux

Storm Has Passed
8x10 Oil on Gallery Wrapped Canvas $50

I reworked this painting because it kept bugging me - added more violet to the sky and foreground and am very happy with it now! Proceeds help support The Garuda Aviary, so thank you!

After the Storm

 "After the Storm"
8x10 in oils on wrapped canvas

ON HOLD

Please note that all computer monitors show colors slightly differently.

I have been really busy taking an oil painting class so have not been posting lately. This is a painting I actually finished in December, but just haven't had time to photograph and post! I will be posting quite a few more in the coming weeks, as I don't want to post them for sale until they are dry enough to varnish and ship.

The proceeds support the Garuda Aviary which is currently in great need of extra funds. Sadly, one of the Greenwing Macaws, Red, had to have surgery and didn't make it. So we are raising funds to pay those vet bills, as well as the ongoing care of all the parrots. So thank you for supporting this work.
