Pricing and Ordering

Orders for Christmas 2019 Deadline: October 15, 2019

Commissioning a pet portrait is as easy as contacting me and starting the conversation.

You can view my Gallery of Commissions to see my style and if it is what you have in mind.

Often people are afraid to make contact if they don't know the ballpark range of pricing so I have included some pricing below:

Pricing and Ordering

Here is some basic information you should know beforehand:

All paintings are hand painted in oils on panels and come unframed. If you would like it painted on gallery wrapped canvas or cradled panel in order to hang unframed, let me know.

Depending upon whether you want a head only portrait or full body, the price ranges with a plain background are as follows.

For sizes smaller than 8x10 inches, head only portraits are recommended, and only one pet.

8x8                        $175

REFERENCE PHOTOS:

Clear and detailed photos are a requirement for accepting commission work.

I will need one clear photo of your chosen pose (or we can discuss), as well as 3 or 4 additional photos that clearly show the animal's colors (especially eye color). Photographs can show a wide range of fur colors depending upon the lighting.

IMPORTANT: To obtain usable photos:

Photograph your pet from down at their eye level. If they are looking up at the camera it makes them look distorted (unless you WANT that - see Sprout). Having a second person help you by focusing the dog's attention on a squeak toy helps you pose the dog's head.

Photograph outdoors in light shade, or by a window. Bright sun and flash wash out the colors and make hard shadows.

After submitting your order, we will talk about your relationship with your pet so that I can get some sense of their personality.

A 25% deposit is required to begin the painting.  I can e-mail you an invoice via Paypal so that you can pay by Paypal, or credit card.

Please allow 4-10 weeks for completion of your pet portrait. It may be sooner, but it depends upon the wait list at the time you place your order.

GIFT CERTIFICATES are available if you want to give a gift now but do not have the pet's photos available.

100% Happiness Guarantee - I accept return of the work within 14 days if you are not happy with it and will refund all artist fees (less shipping costs) upon return of the artwork. If you return the artwork for a refund, you thereby relinquish all rights to the work and I am allowed to sell the original and any prints.

Prices shown are as of June 2019 and are subject to change. Your price will be confirmed in writing prior to beginning your artwork.

Shipping Costs are invoiced once the painting is shipped and the amount depends upon the size of the painting and the ship to address.

Framing is available at additional cost.

I look forward to "meeting" your pet!
